ART-H & ART-N (Advanced Rescue Training)
ART-H Advanced Rescue Training – Hub (Initial Course)
This module is designed for technicians who have completed their Global Wind Organisation Basic Safety Training (BST) and are progressing into their first level of advanced rescue training within a wind turbine generator (WTG). It provides the essential knowledge, skills, and hands-on experience required to safely perform rescue operations in the hub, on the spinner, and inside the blade.
Through a combination of structured theory and practical exercises, participants are introduced to industry-standard rescue equipment, methods, and techniques that go beyond basic Working at Height training.
Focus:
Develops the participant’s ability to carry out entry-type rescue operations within the WTG hub, spinner, and blade interior. The course introduces both team-based and single-rescuer techniques, ensuring a strong foundation in safe, controlled rescue execution in complex turbine environments.
ART-N Advanced Rescue Training – Nacelle (Initial Course)
This module is intended for individuals taking their first step into advanced rescue operations following BST. It equips participants with the practical skills and confidence to perform rescues in key areas of the wind turbine, including the nacelle, tower, and basement.
Training combines theory with realistic, scenario-based exercises using industry-standard equipment and methods that exceed those covered in basic safety training.
Focus:
Builds competency in performing casualty evacuation and rescue operations in confined and high-risk areas such as the nacelle, tower, and basement. Emphasis is placed on safe decision-making, teamwork, and the correct application of rescue techniques in real-world scenarios.
Prerequisites:
As this is the first level of advanced rescue training, participants must hold valid, in-date certifications from the Global Wind Organisation Basic Safety Training (BST), including:
- GWO Working at Height
- GWO First Aid
- GWO Manual Handling
Duration:
The full ART course is delivered over 3 days and is designed to take participants from basic safety knowledge to their first level of competency in advanced wind turbine rescue operations.
